Three decades later, I'm amazed and honored that fans and friends still ask us about this recording. Our goal all those years ago was to make something that would last.

We would have loved to have pressed some more records for you, but, living in the present simply doesn't allow this. What we have here is certainly the next best thing and some audiophiles might argue, is even better as here on Bandcamp, you can download this in almost any format.

I shipped the original reel to reel masters to Sean Sullivan at John Prine's Butcher Shoppe Studio in Nashville. Sean took great care to digitize the analog tapes and Mark Poole gave it a final remastering at his Zone 8 Studio in Granville WV. What I'm hearing now reminds me of what we heard thirty years ago while listening back to the full album at Earth Tones in Parkersburg WV for the very first time.

The album will be out everywhere iTunes, Amazon etc on Nov 27, but you can pre-order it now on Bandcamp, get two songs, and choose any format. The very highest sound quality will be found on Bandcamp.

This morning, as I heard the news about President Trump pulling us out of the Paris Agreement, I couldn't stop thinking about this song that I wrote about ten years ago and recorded with Tim O'Brien. Today, took a stroll around my yard and shot the video you see here. So much green! Yesterday, Trump said: "I was elected to represent the citizens of Pittsburgh, not Paris." And to that, I say this. Do the good people of Pittsburgh care about the Parisian babies yet to be born? On the lives of my future grandkids, I bet yes.‬ #Parisburgh

Grammy Nominee & Mountain Stage host Larry Groce and his wife Sandra Groce, violist with the West Virginia Symphony, have made a new studio recording called “Live Forever.” (Produced by Don Dixon) It includes three of Larry’s original songs and eight covers, mostly songs connected to Mountain Stage over the years. This very well received recording is Groce’s first album in over two decades.

“this album demonstrates that [Larry] should not have stayed away so long. While the album consists of mostly covers of songs done by artists who appeared on the show — such as Townes Van Zandt, Jesse Winchester, and Billy Joe Shaver — the originals are the treasures.  Most notably, ‘What Do You Think About (When You Think Of Love),’ which was inspired by the great American writer Raymond Carver. In it, Groce becomes the Robert Altman of song…’When the Mist Clears Away’…captures West Virginia, in all its magnificence and obscurity, like few others”  Amos Perrine – No Depression

Todd Burge has a new album out as well entitled “Live from Mountain Stage 2006-2015”. The CD includes 17 tracks of original material.  Larry Groce has called Burge “WV’s premier songwriter”.
“Like a Randy Newman with a guitar, he’s also been described as a Warren Zevon who can evoke bizarre characters and situations….hearing Burge live takes the cake.
